If we&#8217;ve already got passports holding that information (with which we can, erm&#8230; prove out identities), why, precisely, do we need ID cards as well?<\/p>\n<p>An obvious point, I know &#8211; but I do so very much enjoy highlighting when our dear overlords start digging themselves yet more holes. There is, as far as I can tell, now no possible justification for this legislation.
