Should have left it six months to see the lay of the land and give the newly re-elected Malcolm Rifkind time to raise his (largely untainted) profile. Could split the party again like this.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/vote2005\/html\/scoreboard.stm\">Lib Dems up to 62<\/a>. The nation of Cornwall is entirely Lib Dem. But can they consolidate their gains?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/uk_politics\/vote_2005\/northern_ireland\/4523649.stm\">David Trimble is out<\/a>. Northern Ireland continues to count. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sluggerotoole.com\/\">Slugger O&#8217;Toole keeps tabs on the situation<\/a>. Looks like the Ulster Unionists are screwed.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/uk_politics\/vote_2005\/frontpage\/4521627.stm\">Blair spouts nonsense<\/a>, looks like he&#8217;s going to be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.number-10.gov.uk\/output\/page4.asp\">lame duck<\/a>.
