{"id":307,"date":"2005-01-27T19:34:09","date_gmt":"2005-01-27T19:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jcm.org.uk\/blog\/2005\/01\/27\/bbc-filthy-propaganda-merchants-again-apparently\/"},"modified":"2005-01-27T19:34:09","modified_gmt":"2005-01-27T19:34:09","slug":"bbc-filthy-propaganda-merchants-again-apparently","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jcm.org.uk\/blog\/2005\/01\/bbc-filthy-propaganda-merchants-again-apparently\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC = filthy propaganda merchants (again, apparently)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The wording&#8217;s interesting &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/uk_politics\/4213089.stm\">&#8220;there is a widespread perception that the BBC suffers from certain forms of cultural and unintentional bias&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biased-bbc.blogspot.com\/\">the BBC&#8217;s so-called bias<\/a> will no doubt be much appreciated in <a href=\"http:\/\/eureferendum.blogspot.com\/#110676743699286722\">some quarters<\/a>, but all it&#8217;s actually saying is that some people <i>perceive<\/i> the corporation to be biased in favour of the EU. As I <a href=\"http:\/\/europhobia.blogspot.com\/2005\/01\/its-for-your-own-good-you-know.html\">discovered<\/a> earlier today, <a href=\"http:\/\/rottweilerpuppy.blogspot.com\/2005\/01\/terror-suspects-freed-not-enough-say.html\">people&#8217;s perceptions can be severely flawed<\/a> if they&#8217;ve already got set opinions and agendas.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re pro-EU, you&#8217;ll probably have little to complain about beyond the <i>lack<\/i> of coverage by the BBC; if you&#8217;re anti-EU, every mention of what&#8217;s going on in Brussels that isn&#8217;t critical can be interpreted as slavish support. If you have no opinion one way or the other, you&#8217;ll probably not particularly care.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.40k.org.uk\/blog\/2005\/01\/anti-auntie\">Toby&#8217;s already done a better summing-up job than I can manage<\/a>.
