So, US readers, remember:<\/p>\n<p>If you are planning to vote after work today, or late in the day, <strong>they MUST let you vote so long as you ARE IN LINE by 7:30 p.m. when the polls close. Do NOT let them turn you away if you are there but still in line, whether inside or outside the polling location.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t make the mistake of thinking you can&#8217;t make any difference. The presidency was won last time by just 537 votes. It is your right and it is your duty to take part in the democratic process &#8211; especially at a time when the US is claiming to be spreading democracy around the world. Set a good example, and keep this election clean.<\/p>\n<p>Please?<\/p>\n<p><b>Update<\/b>: Oh dear, <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/world\/americas\/3972963.stm\">the BBC is reporting<\/a> that electronic voting machines in Kerry-leaning swing-state <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/ELECTION\/2004\/pages\/results\/states\/PA\/P\/00\/index.html\">Pennsylvania<\/a> already had votes logged on them when polling opened this morning.
