Derrida&#8217;s ideas on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phenomenologycenter.org\/phenom.htm\">phenomenology<\/a> and contributions to the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/search?q=cache:yVSFFIRrl6sJ:www.oneworld-publications.com\/books\/texts\/postmodernism-a-beginners-guide-ch1.htm+1960s+french+philosophy&amp;hl=en\">post-modernist<\/a>&#8221; and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philosopher.org.uk\/poststr.htm\">post-structuralist<\/a> movements (with the likes of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michel_Foucault\">Michel Foucault<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Roland_Barthes\">Roland Barthes<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jacques_Lacan\">Jaques Lacan<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jean_Hyppolite\">Jean Hippolyte<\/a>) have caused thousands of students headaches for the last four decades, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hydra.umn.edu\/derrida\/russ.html\">as he himself acknowledged<\/a>, but at the same time have helped to revolutionise the nature of criticism and analytical thought. Having lost <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bourdieu\">Pierre Bourdieu<\/a> a couple of years ago, France&#8217;s place as philosophical capital of the world could well be under threat.
