Well <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unhchr.ch\/udhr\/lang\/eng.htm\">who&#8217;d have thought it<\/a>?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Article 11<br \/>\n1. Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>(The United Nations&#8217; Universal Declaration of Human Rights to which, the last time I checked, the UK remains a signatory)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.echr.coe.int\/NR\/rdonlyres\/D5CC24A7-DC13-4318-B457-5C9014916D7A\/0\/EnglishAnglais.pdf\">Alternatively<\/a> (.pdf),<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Article 6 &#8211; Right to Liberty and Security<br \/>\n3.
