(Blame <a href=\"http:\/\/www.takingaim.co.uk\/\">this man<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><b>Four jobs I\u00ef\u00bf\u00bdve had<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Intern in the European Commission&#8217;s Information Department (while I hated the EU)<\/li>\n<li>Researcher to an MP at the House of Commons<\/li>\n<li>Handing out chocolate Easter Eggs while dressed as a giant chicken<\/li>\n<li>Staff Writer \/ Sub-editor on a glossy travel\/history magazine with pretty pictures and stuff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <b>Four movies I can watch over and over<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anything by Sergio Leone (even The Colossus of Rhodes)<\/li>\n<li>Evil Dead III (aka Army of Darkness: The Medieval Dead, aka Bruce Campbell Vs. The Army of Darkness)<\/li>\n<li>Citizen Kane (boring answer, but true)<\/li>\n<li>Scarface (the Stone\/de Palma\/Pacino remake)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <b>Four places I\u00ef\u00bf\u00bdve lived<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bloomsbury, London (too many students and tourists)\n<\/li>\n<li>Camden Town, London (too many students and tourists)\n<\/li>\n<li>Eastbourne, East Sussex (too many old people and tourists)\n<\/li>\n<li>Sherborne, Dorset (too many schoolkids and tourists)\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <b>Four tv shows I like<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The West Wing (naturally&#8230;)<\/li>\n<li>Deadwood (purely for Lovejoy swearing)<\/li>\n<li>My Name Is Earl (when I remember to watch it)<\/li>\n<li>The Mighty Boosh (likewise, when I remember to watch it)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> But the only programmes I regularly watch on TV these days are the 10 O&#8217;clock News and Newsnight. Largely because my reception&#8217;s so bad, and I can&#8217;t afford cable&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><b>Four places I\u00ef\u00bf\u00bdve vacationed<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nikko (beautiful)\n<\/li>\n<li>Paris (tasty)\n<\/li>\n<li>Tokyo (aces)\n<\/li>\n<li>Vancouver (also tasty)\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Four of my favourite dishes<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Roast beef with all the trimmings (naturally)<\/li>\n<li>The full-on traditional Japanese food overload you get in traditional Ryokans<\/li>\n<li>Pie (All sorts &#8211; fish, steak and kidney, game, apple, cherry, anything and everything)\n<\/li>\n<li>Properly-cooked, nicely garlicy escargots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <b>Four sites I visit daily<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC News<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/\">The Guardian<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Main_Page\">Wikipedia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/\">The IMDB<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Hardly very revealing or original, that&#8230; But they&#8217;re probably my only regular dailies (bar a few blogs whose owners need no more ego boosts)<\/p>\n<p><b>Four books I\u00ef\u00bf\u00bdve read this year<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter Ackroyd &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0802134815\">First Light<\/a> (restrained, mournful, less complex than his usual stuff, different)<\/li>\n<li>Christopher Booker &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0826480373\">The Seven Basic Plots<\/a> (long-winded in places, and a fair few inaccuracies scattered about, but the basic case is well made and the book as a whole intriguing)<\/li>\n<li>Boris Johnson &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0007224419\/\">The Dream of Rome<\/a> (typically readable and entertaining &#8211; not so sure about his arguments though)<\/li>\n<li>John Stuart Mill &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0192833847\">On Liberty and other essays<\/a> (good collection, that)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> (I&#8217;m assuming since 1st January, or there&#8217;d be a more interesting range)<\/p>\n<p><b>Four bloggers I\u00ef\u00bf\u00bdm going to tag with this<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not that cruel<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To make up for lack of content for the last couple of days, content about which you couldn&#8217;t care less &#8211; it&#8217;s meme time!
